About Me

I'm Mehdi Farhaoui, CEO and Founder of FARAMED AS. With over 15 years of hands-on experience delivering large-scale industrial projects across the Oil & Gas and Energy sectors, I've built FARAMED on a simple conviction: commissioning doesn't have to be the bottleneck. Our mission is to help project teams start loop testing months earlier — reducing risk, cutting rework, and securing predictable start-ups on the world's most complex facilities.

My Story

My career began where the real problems live — on fabrication yards and offshore platforms. From YAMAL LNG modules in the Philippines and China, to the Martin Linge platform hookup offshore Norway, I spent over a decade coordinating multi-site, multi-stakeholder construction campaigns for Saipem, Technip, and TechnipFMC. I witnessed firsthand how traditional commissioning methods create massive schedule pressure in the final stretch of every project: teams waiting for control room readiness, punch lists exploding at the worst possible moment, and millions lost to avoidable delays.

That frustration became the founding idea behind FARAMED. I knew there had to be a way to decouple field verification from the critical path — to test instrumentation loops early, at the junction box, before the permanent system is even powered up. Today, FARAMED's Advanced Loop Check solution and Mobile Control Room do exactly that on major projects worldwide.

"Every day of delay on a megaproject costs millions. The best time to find a wiring defect is when the scaffolding is still up — not when you're fighting for RFSU."

My Qualifications

I hold a Master's degree in Innovation, Industrial Organization & Complex Project Management from ENSGSI — École Nationale Supérieure en Génie des Systèmes Industriels (Nancy, France), one of France's leading engineering schools for industrial systems and innovation. I also completed a Master in Logistics at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina, which gave me an international perspective on supply chain and operations management early in my career.

Beyond formal education, my expertise is grounded in the field: BOSIET-certified for offshore operations, trained in Permit-to-Work and Safe Job Analysis, and fluent in industry-standard tools including Primavera, ProCoSys, PIMS, and MS Project.

My Career

My path has been shaped by increasingly complex industrial challenges across three continents:

At Saipem (Paris, 2009–2013), I cut my teeth on EPC bidding — estimating construction hours, analyzing subcontractor tenders, and preparing technical offers for major Oil & Gas clients.

At Technip / TechnipFMC (Paris, Philippines, China, Norway — 2013–2020), I progressed from Construction Engineer to Methods Discipline Lead on the YAMAL LNG megaproject, managing piping fabrication and erection sequences across yards in Batangas and Qingdao. I then served as TechnipFMC Representative on the Martin Linge project in Norway, coordinating between three countries and three organizations, before moving offshore as Mechanical Completion Lead — driving punch resolution and MC handover to commissioning on a live platform.

At Equinor / Vår Energi (Stavanger, 2020–present), I served as Deputy Mechanical Completion Lead on the Jotun Balder Future development, overseeing the full completion and handover cycle for one of Norway's flagship projects.

These experiences — from home office engineering to fabrication yards to offshore platforms — are the DNA of FARAMED's approach: we understand every link in the chain, because we've worked at every link in the chain.

Conclusion

FARAMED AS was born from the conviction that the commissioning phase of industrial projects deserves better tools, smarter methods, and earlier action. My team and I bring the operational credibility of having delivered on the world's most demanding projects — combined with the agility and innovation of a focused technology company. If your next project has thousands of loops to verify and a schedule that can't slip, let's talk.
